Marguerite Wildenhain bird bowl
Curated Ceramics is immensely proud to present several original studio pieces by ceramics master Marguerite Wildenhain (1896 – 1985). Each was made contemporary to her instruction at Pond Farm artist colony and acquired by one of her students. An important historical piece of American studio ceramics.
This sculptural form was thrown in stoneware as a bowl, carved back to reveal wings, then head and carved tail were attached. The finished form is polychrome glazed by the master.
