Gary Erickson form in form
A porcelain white textured spiral inclusion is nestled within a black textured porcelain spiral, its interior yellow glaze providing heightened visual interest.
Spirals are the oldest of Gary's sculptural motifs. They are influenced by growth in nature.
His computer had photos of spiral galaxies along with many other spiraling things, but he also saw music and dance as spiraling infinitely forward and so, nestling spirals inside spirals becomes a metaphor for relationships.
Created during Erickson's summers living and working in Jingdezhen, the porcelain city of China.
Measures 7.5 x 5.5 x 4 inches (LxWxH)
